The new Android 14 version brings all the benefits of the Android system along with vivo's signature personal touch to deliver an enhanced and smooth experience. The update improves memory management, multitasking, personalization, privacy, and security, as well as offering new video editing tools to make room for creativity.
Smooth Envision: Agility at all times
Funtouch OS 14 introduces Smooth Envision, an innovative approach that makes the operating system experience smoother inside and out. By reducing the number of processes and optimizing RAM usage, Funtouch OS 14 improves system performance, responsiveness, and the ability to keep more applications active simultaneously. This enhanced RAM-saving feature adds up to 600MB of available space to devices with a RAM configuration of 8GB or higher, making multitasking easier. For added convenience, the new Interface Curator feature ensures that applications that haven't been manually closed are always restored to the last interface, so users can easily pick up where they left off.
On select smartphone models, fluidity is also achieved visually with Motion Blur, another enhancement that uses advanced algorithms to simulate motion blur when opening and closing apps on the home screen. This software improves the fluidity of screens with a refresh rate of 60 Hz by 18.7%, ensuring smooth visual transitions.
Get more done at once with improved multitasking
Taking multitasking to the next level, Funtouch OS 14 introduces an improved background apps feature. Thanks to the improved visualization, it will now be easier to navigate and understand the field of settings. Users can keep up to 12 small windows active in the background and the operating system offers support for side suspension, giving consumers greater control. For situations where users want to focus on one app but still monitor another, such as watching a car ride, watching a video, and chatting at the same time, a new non-interactive small window mode has been introduced. Users can easily switch between small window modes with a single touch.
More color, more you: personalize your experience
With the new range of customization options, Funtouch OS 14 allows consumers to express their tastes and styles. Users can now customize the clock on the lock screen with three new layouts and eight font styles. The new "always visible" modes[1] and the new minimalist theme also offer even more customization options for vivo consumers. The new monochrome theme 'MY colour palette', which is based on the Android design 'Material You', offers a simple and elegant colour selection to customise. In addition, this feature contributes to energy savings by optimizing the display for grayscale images.
More creativity thanks to new video editing tools
To make it easier to create content without the need to rely on third-party apps, Funtouch OS 14 comes with improvements in video editing. Users can now export videos in their original quality, allowing for high-quality export. New video quality settings, including resolutions up to 4K at 60 FPS[2], give users greater creative control. In addition, 25 exclusive filters have been added to customize the videos, all presented in thumbnails to better show the effects and make it easier to choose.
Funtouch OS 14 also offers an improved album browsing and viewing experience, allowing users to adjust video playback speed, loop playback, enjoy full-screen playback, or take screenshots.
Maximum user protection and safety
Funtouch OS 14 allows consumers to share the device's screen while maintaining full control over their personal information. A new Smart Mirroring feature allows users to share their screen without worrying about notifications accidentally revealing personal information. In addition, hidden photos now have additional password verification protection.
